Getting started

Where are my notes?

In the Files app → iCloud Drive → Buff notes. They’re plain markdown files, so you can open them on a Mac or in any markdown app. What each file is. If iCloud Drive is off, they’re kept on your device (Files → On My iPhone/iPad).

Common questions

  • Can I undo? Type /undo to remove your last entry today, or /edit to change it. More
  • How do I add from other apps? Use Share → buff, say “Add to buff” to Siri, or make a Shortcut with “Add to buff”. More
  • Why does an AI feature ask for a key? Briefs and rewrites use Claude and need your own Anthropic API key (Options → AI). Plain-language requests use Apple’s on-device model where available. More
  • Does the developer see my notes? No. See the privacy policy.
